In golf course architecture, it is a rare opportunity to work with a client who not only expects, but demands a design that moves the needle. Bob Parsons is that client. The Other Course & Bad Little Nine are those courses.
"Jackson Kahn did an outstanding job in designing Scottsdale National’s two newest golf courses. At the very beginning they provided key ideas to make each course both incredibly unique and fun to play. When the process started I requested that the 18 hole course not contain two holes that were remotely alike. They nailed this. They also came up with a killer idea to make our par three course especially fun. Because of this idea, our members and their guests make it a point to play the Par 3. In every way because of their clever design, it lives up to its name 'The Bad Little Nine.'
Scottsdale National is surrounded by spectacular vistas. I asked Jackson Kahn to frame these wonderful views of Sonoran Arizona throughout our new 18 hole golf course which we named 'The Other Course'. And of course they did an exemplary job of this as well. We named the new 18 hole course 'The Other Course' as a tongue-in-cheek understatement, as I firmly believe it is the finest, most unique golf course in Arizona and one of the all time finest in the USA. I could go on and on here, but the point is if you’re looking to have a golf course that is not an 'us too' design and want a firm that will stay laser focused on your project from beginning to well after it’s done, these are your guys. Would I hire them again? You bet I would."
